A very fun and interesting tour we chose to visit a Parmigiano Reggiano producer, Prosciutto producer and a Balsamic vinegar producer all three were small to medium in size giving us a good representation of the producers in the region. Our guide Paolo Matteucci was perfect he stayed with us the whole time not just turning us over to the owner/staff at each location. It was clear Paolo has a strong relationship with these folks adding to the experience. The four of us were amazed how good his english was which added to how much we all learned from him

We took a food tour in Modena with Kay of Emilia Delizia in October 2024. Kay was fantastic! Everything we ate was delicious and we learned a lot about the regional food. Balsamic vinegar, gnocco fritto, crescentina, parmagiano-reggiano, mortadella and prosciutto! So much fun. Wish we could take the tour again!

This tour is highly recommended. It includes an up-close observation of how Parmigiano Reggiano, balsamic vinegar, and parma ham are made and cured using traditional methods. Our guide was excellent at explaining the steps of production clearly and thoroughly. Participants can purchase the goods at each of the stops as well. Really fun and educational day!

Thank you for a wonderful day for our food tour. We enjoyed the seeing the parmaesean cheese being made, learning to make gnocchi and learning all about balsamic vinegar and how it is made. Our host was so friendly and was very accommodating. We enjoyed our journey through Modena!

We had an amazing time exploring the Emilia-Romagna region and seeing the production of 3 amazing and delicious foods: Parmigiano Reggiano cheese, Prosciutto di Modena and of course Aceto Balsamico. Our guide was pleasant and knowledgeable as well as each of the hosts. We ate plenty of delicious food and learned about the rich history of each product and the labor of love involved. We would suggest this tour to everyone.

We highly recommend this tour! We thoroughly enjoyed our day with Thomas to experience a food tour of the Parmigiano-Reggiano region.It was a full day of tasting wonderful food including visiting a cheese factory where we were able to see how the cheese it made! It was fastinating to learn about the entire process. Afterwards we went on to visit a family owned procuitto maker. The owners son, Gary, was a delightful host showing us the complicated process of making this superior quality ham product with over 65 varieties! Next stop was a balsamic vinegar vineyard,outside of Modena,owned by a local family. We tasted some amazing vinegars & learned about the complicated process of making balsamic vinegar.
Lastly we had a charming lunch visting a local winemaker at his . vineyard. We were served a delightful meal at his home. As I am a vegetarian, he made sure the meal included choices for me too!
It was a thoroughly enjoyable day with wonderful hosts!
