After researching the various tour options around Bologna & Modena for months my group decided to go with Emilia Romagna Tours for our Parmesan and Balsamic making/tasting tour! I’m so happy with our decision!! Riccardo was so helpful, flexible and informative while emailing back and forth to arrange a date for our tour. He let us pick and choose what parts of the tour we wanted to do and helped us plan the perfect day in the Modena area!
We spent the morning exploring a dairy farm/Parmesan making factory and tasting amazing Parmesan with light snacks with wine and water offered! After we got to see how the cheese was made & taste a range of different ages we were given the opportunity to buy some cheese to bring home and I’m so happy we bought some! It is amazing. After that we headed to see how Balsamic is made and tasted multiple kinds! It was delicious and very interesting!

Riccardo was the perfect tour guide, he seemed very educated on everything we discussed & he was very polite and friendly. He made sure everything ran smoothly for the day and was very patient! We would definitely recommend booking this tour to anyone who wants to see the region and taste all it has to offer! Thank you Riccardo!!

The full day food tour exceeded our expectations. Valentina, our tour guide was very knowledgeable, friendly and pleasant to be with. Maximo, the driver, was equally pleasant and a careful driver (it rained the entire tour).
This experience was a highlight of our month-long European trip. We learned so much about parmigiano regiano cheese, prosciutto du Parma, and balsamic vinegar. I highly recommend taking the tour, especially if you are a foodie.

This tour was fantastic! The stops at cheese, prosciutto and balsamic artisans were wonderfully intimate and informative, food tastings were delicious, the lunch was lovely, and the tour guide (in our case Lisa) was highly knowledgeable and very friendly. Also learned a bit about the history of the region and the conditions that make it perfect for producing some of the best tasting food in Italy. One of the best food tours I have been on. Well worth the time and cost. Highly recommend to anyone who loves Northern Italian food and curious about where the best ingredients come from and what makes them so great.

We contacted Riccardo for an airport transfer and had a wonderful experience from start to finish. His communication was superb. He was very accommodating and answered all my questions patiently. My family and I recently had a private food tour with Riccardo in the region around Parma. We had a comfortable luxury mini-van with a driver and Riccardo as our guide. We visited a parmigiana dairy, prosciutto producer and balsamic producer in the country side.
Riccardo was a great guide. He was extremely knowledgeable about the history and process to produce these food delicacies. He was also very personable making us feel like we were with a good friend all day.

My wife and I took a tour of Bologna with the wonderful Riccardo Soli as our tour guide. Riccardo took us across the city and eloquently punctuated each bite of delicious food with interesting facts and history about the area. Our afternoon with Ricardo, tasting all of the finest morsels the region had to offer, felt less like being shuffled along a corporate tour and more like a stroll with an old friend. If you are looking for a laid-back tour to help you learn about anywhere in and around the Emilia Romagna region, we cant recommend Riccardo and Emilia Romagna Tours enough.
