We had the pleasure of a wonderful hike this spring, organized by ICNOS Adventures. Communication with Anna and Marcello before the trip was prompt and succinct. The cost was reasonable.
Things we enjoyed about this trip: it was self-guided and the directions were clear and reassuring. There were often choices available for each day, and we enjoyed the variety of experiences. The accommodations were excellent- we had the best rooms, the staff were highly professional and our bags arrived at each destination without fail. The recommendations for dining were very helpful. The only time we were disappointed was when the tour was over.

Awesome, unique, fantastic, spectacular, wonderful some of the words we would use to describe the trip you planned for us. We had the most fun. Sicily is so amazing and we feel that we were able to see and enjoy so much of it. From Palermo all the way through to Taormina we explored. Finishing off in the Aeolie Islands felt like the crown jewel. Being in all of the cities interspersed with phenomenal hikes in all the Nature preserves was so rewarding.
Every part of the vacation seemed magical. The hotels all seemed special. Our drivers took great care of us. Our guides in Etna and the Islands were the best. The Wine tasting was top notch. And the cooking class with Chef Massimo was beyond expectations.
We look forward to our next Italian adventure with you and a special THANKS for the patience you showed us leading up to the trip.

We were a party of two couples that signed up with Icnos Adventures for their self guided walking tour called “Jewels of the Amalfi Coast”. Marcello and Anna are the co-owners of the company and they were very prompt and helpful in responding to the myriad of questions I emailed them with before the trip. They have an extensive knowledge about the Amalfi Coast and Italy and were perceptive to our needs when answering our questions. They helped us customize the trip with a couple of nights at the beginning in the hillside town of Ravello and additional days at the end of the tour in Rome, Spoleto and Assisi.

Included in our pre-departure package from Icnos was detailed instructions on how to find our driver when we arrived at the Naples Airport. He was there waiting with a sign, with a warm and courteous greeting and we were on our way to the first hotel. And that was the way it was every step of the way while we were on the Icnos tour. In our rooms at the first hotel was a packet with detailed itinerary for each day’s walk. Also included were separate sheets of cultural notes, dining recommendations, maps, and guide books. I had done a lot of pre trip reading about the Amalfi towns and hikes but know I had even more details and enjoyed staying up at night and learning more about the area.

The hikes were varied, with stunning scenery and many majestic view points of the coast, deep fir forests, tiny little towns, monasteries, and churches. With the historical and cultural notes that were part of the packet at times you could get a good understanding of the ancient history of this coast that was founded by people fleeing Rome, the development of the Amalfi Maritime Republic, the marauding Saracen pirates, the paper industry, and the continuing evolvement of the culture.

Icnos picked wonderful friendly boutique hotels in the different towns and cities that we stayed in. Their luggage pickup and delivery worked seamlessly. It was nice not to have to worry about bags and just find them waiting in the next hotel upon arrival.

Marcello somehow kept track of us while we were on his tour. He called me one afternoon to let me know that there was a change of plans the next morning due to an unexpected road closure. Instead of taking a local bus to the start of our hike he sent a driver for us. There were other little details like that, that made the tour quite impressive.

The four in our party have spent lots of time in wilderness areas in the US and we appreciate being places that aren’t over run with people. This walking tour took us away from several busy heavily touristed areas of the Amalfi Coast to peaceful trails and paths.

We will recommend tour to our friends and look forward to taking another walking tour with Icnos Adventures.

We asked Marcello and Anna to arranged a few days of bike/hike around Amalfi coast. Marcello got us a great little hotel in the Town of Amalfi. He met us the first night with bikes and helmets, and packets of information were waiting for us at the hotel. Hotel locked the bikes overnight. Excellent TREK bikes, geared well for the up and down roads. Very good pedals so you don't need clip-in shoes. We only rode a total of about 125 km in two days, and hiked two days. Make sure to have your own water bottles and gloves. Highly recommend.

You guys were awesome! The directions were so complete and fun to follow; the hotels were all exactly what we wanted, the luggage transfers and drivers were perfect, and the materials you provided were very thorough. We had absolutely no complaints. You guys were also incredibly quick about responding to my e-mails when I had questions. We have done hikes with groups and leaders before, but for a place like the Amalfi Coast, this was the best way to go. Thank you so much!
