Having traveled extensively with his own children, Fabrizio knew exactly how to keep our kids engaged throughout the tour of Pompeii. The adults weren’t left out though, as his knowledge of the area was vast. From the youngest to the grandparent, we all thoroughly enjoyed our tour. Fabrizio helped us make the most of our time in the large site, and although we had visited before, nearly everything we saw was new and we learned a great deal. The take home packet that helped to reinforce what we had experienced was a great bonus. Communication and booking were simple. He was able to be flexible with the winter weather. Will book with him again.

We had 3 kids with us and he took us on a detailed tour of Pompei.
The kids were kept very involved with the quizzes he had made for them and we all really enjoyed the trip.
His command of history of the region is also very impressive .
At the end of tour he recommended some great pizza places and also drove us through the historic site of Napoli.

Fabrizio escorted our group of 6 adults first to Paestum, then to a buffalo mozzarella farm for lunch, and finally for an afternoon in Pompeii. He's very knowledgeable, polite, interesting, energetic and engaging. He was very sensitive to our interests and needs. I recommend him highly.

My husband and I were met by Fabrizio as soon as we got off the train in Naples. He took us to Pompeii for a private guided tour and it was amazing. Fabrizio is very knowledgable of the Pompeii ruins and it was a extremely educational and a wonderful day! He wanted to make sure that we were enjoying our day and that it was meeting our interests. He gave us lots of options in terms of how long we wanted to stay in Pompeii and where to eat lunch on our way down to the Amalfi Coast. He took us to a delightful seafood restaurant on the harbor, knowing that I had to be gluten free so I had lots of options. We will always have beautiful memories of that day, and it being a trip for our 25th wedding anniversary, Fabrizio made it one of our favorite days in Italy! Fabrizio is very professional, a great driver which is a plus with the chaos of driving there and a friendly, family man who knows the area very well, and is delightful to talk to. We can't thank him enough and would highly recommend him for all different types of tours.

In our many years of travelling, this company is one of the very best we have ever used. I felt a bit apprehensive at first using a private tour company, but this tour of Herculaneum and Pompeii was a real highlight of our trip. Right from the initial contact, Giuseppe and his team were professional, efficient, capable, and patient. Our guide Frederika met us at exactly the time specified in the exact location specified. We went first to Herculaneum and were given a stress-free, informative, very interesting tour. Then driver Pasquale took us to Pompeii, just as a lot of the coach tours were leaving, and Frederika navigated the site expertly to show us all the highlights whilst avoiding as many stairs as possible. Her knowledge was fantastic and her commentary was most entertaining and interesting. My husband is not much of a history buff, but even he commented on the enjoyable day. As soon as we were ready to leave, Pasquale magically appeared with his comfortable air-conditioned car and gave us a lovely tour of Naples on the way back to the ship. Everything was beautifully organised, and we had a wonderful day. Thankyou so much, Leisure Italy. I would highly recommend this company.

#1 Giuseppe D’Angelo - Mt. Vesuvius

Giuseppe arrived early to our hotel and patiently waited for us to come downstairs. He was well-dressed, professional and friendly from the moment he picked us up to the moment he dropped us off 5 hours later. The Mount Vesuvius hike was hot and exhausting, but Giuseppe stayed with us every step of the way. He was aware of when we were too tired or hot and provided water and found shade for us all the way up the mountain. His running commentary was interesting and informative and we learned a lot about the region and Vesuvius. Giuseppe went an hour over our scheduled time without complaint and he left us feeling extremely satisfied. We definitely got more than our money’s worth. He is very well-educated and well-informed and I definitely recommend hiring this proud Neopolitan.

#2 Giuseppe D’Angelo - Naples tour

This was our second tour with Giuseppe, but this time it was in his hometown of Napoli. Since he was born and raised there, it was one of the best tours we experienced on our trip. He picked us up early again and he made sure that we got our full tour and more. He was very generous with his time and we covered most of the important historical sites in the city.
We got to hear some great stories about growing up in Naples during the 70s and 80s and the personal touch made us appreciate the city even more. (Ask him about playing soccer in the Galleria Umberto when he was a child or swimming in the city’s fountains.) His company is the only company you will need to learn about and enjoy Naples.

#3 Federica Rubino & Valerio Bruner - Naples

Our third and final tour with Leisure Italy. This was a food-tasting & walking tour in Naples. Federica & Valerio arrived early and waited patiently outside for us even though we were late. They were young, vibrant and eager to show us the city. Their English was impeccable and we had no problems communicating. The tour itself was a gustatory delight. We started our day with espresso, standing at the counter like true Neapolitans and talked about the best coffees (Passalacqua) and coffee traditions of Naples. Then off to the pastry shop for two types of baba (sweet dough balls with rum syrup,) to the deli for provolone & olives, to a pizza joint for Mantanara (flash fried dough with ragu and cheese.)
They took us everywhere we wanted to go and Frederica made sure we got a true taste of Naples. We even ate ziti ragu at the original Tandem restaurant. At the end of our tour they both gave us a personalized gift. They really made us feel special.
An added bonus was Federica’s extensive traveling and sophistication and Valerio is an accomplished musician (the Neapolitan Bruce Springsteen.)

Our party consisted of 5 adults and twin 2-year old girls. Out of 50 to 60 resumes on Tours by Locals, I chose to contact Giuseppe because of a) his credentials… allows him to work in Rome and Naples, b) he owns his vehicles and works with professional drivers which allowed us to install our car seats and leave them for the week and c) the photo of him walking with a small child all sealed the deal for me.

We hired Giuseppe for 3 days in Rome and 3 days in Naples/Pompeii/Amalfi Coast. Starting with his driver, Domenico, this man is a professional in Every Single Way. His driving skills are superb, at no time were we biting nails or holding onto the seat (unlike the unknown driver from the airport to the Airbnb). Domenico is knowledgeable, kind and even played with our granddaughters.

Giuseppe is professional, caring, funny, good with children and his knowledge is astounding. I have so many memories of my tours with him… one of the most memorable is the “lesson” he gave us on the Sistine Chapel. Before entering, he had us sit on a bench in a quiet corner and gave us each a laminated copy of the ceiling. Going over the history of Michelangelo and the panels in this private corner allowed us to fully appreciate what we were going to see. This is a very small sample of Giuseppe’s professionalism. Giuseppe graciously waited while we handled the occasional meltdown, the diaper changes, he suggested if we should take the stroller or not. He also arranged our lunches… picking places where the girls could run and we could relax and enjoy our meal. He called ahead so we were escorted immediately to our table and seated.

He made us feel like royalty by sliding in back doors… showing and teaching us the wonders of Rome and Naples… getting us seated at restaurants… helping us with the girls… ALL these things together made our time in Rome and Naples/Pompeii/Amalfi Coast fun and memorable! Whether traveling as a family or just adults… you will enjoy your time with Giuseppe and his crew. Hiring Giuseppe was the BEST money spent for our 18-day holiday in Europe.
