The best boat tour ever!
It was the highlight of our trip, an unforgettable day!
My husband and I decided to do a boat tour around the Amalfi coast - we checked plenty different companies but Restart Boat caught out attention as they had a lot of good reviews.

It is very easy to book a tour with them.
I went on their website - got their WhatsApp number and sent them a quote request - I got a reply straight away with the PDF files with the boats available - then once my husband and I selected da boat, we were informed about the price.
The whole process was so smooth! No stress, and they replied to all messages so quickly!
Once we paid (easy as well, they send you a link) - we got the booking confirmation and more details were to follow near the tour date.
On the days before we got more details about the tour - they booked the pick up time (they picked us up at our hotel and dropped us off at our hotel).

We were lucky that in October the weather was amazing! Warm and sunny!
We visited the whole Amalfi Coast - stopped to have lunch in a lovely restaurant between Amalfi and Positano (our skipper arranged it for us - and we even got a sea view). The food was amazing (Ristorante Teresa)
We stopped 4 times to swim, we decided to don't stop in any cities as we had already visited them the past days and we actually wanted to enjoy the boat itself. That's the good thing about this tour- it's personalised to your wish. We had full control of what we wanted to do, and our skipper always checked if we wanted to stop, swim again, etc.
The boat we picked was the Sparviero 700 - there was a toilet and a small room - drinks and crips.

Now...we had THE BEST skipper ever - Fabiano! What a fantastic person, friendly, kind, extremely helpful! Felt like we had known him for years, like a friend! He showed us all around the Amalfi coast - explained the history of every little corner! We learnt so much with him! He's such a good soul, and Restart Boat is so lucky to have him as part of their team! He made the experience so unforgettable that I'm sure my husband and I will never forget him, he left a mark in our lives.

The staff are fantastic! Antonino, Chiara and Fabiano were just the best!!!! I can't thank them enough for making us have an unforgettable day! Experiences like this one makes you want to return to the Amalfi Coast.
And of course we'd definitely do this tour again! 100% Recommend!

Highly recommend!! Restart boat tour was hands down the best part of our 1 week amalfi trip! We toured the coast and another day went to Capri, both spectacular! Special shout out to our skipper Luca and Antonino who made the experience incredible!

Thank you to our boat driver Alexandro making our experience enjoyable but there are some important things people should be made aware of before you book as this experience is not a cheap one.

It’s really sad to say but this company was really just after our money.

After receiving confirmation of all details I agreed to make full payment. I attempted to make payment numerous times as their system kept giving me an error.

I screenshot this error message to send them as proof advising their link or system was not working. They asked for me to send my credit card details which I did not feel comfortable providing on WhatsApp especially being overseas. This resulted to our booking not being confirmed which was totally understandable. It was a little annoying as it was their system error.

I had already booked tickets to travel to Sorrento so despite not having our booking confirmed we were still going to travel and see what we can locate on arrival with other businesses as I wanted this experience for my family.
Restart Boat insisted I contact them the next morning to check if the boat is still available, if it is I can book. On our way from Rome I reached out to restart and they confirmed boat is available and to make our way to the closest stop where they will organise for our family to be picked up. I thought this was amazing they were so accommodating. I was picked up first by scooter so I can make the payment, which I ended up waiting for some time.

At this time I asked the questions again, will we still get the itinerary we had locked in? they again confirmed we get everything mentioned on the itinerary.

The trip was supposedly customisable, the email initially had listed a lot of activities to do - sail to ancient Roman villa, it’s the “Villa Romana Pollio Felice” archaeological site, also known as “Bagni Regina Giovanna” we will continue to sail along the coast, heading towards Punta Campanella, to see some of the medieval Norman Towers, built to defend the coastline from the Saracen pirates. After this magical view it will be time for Capri!

We will meet the cliffs, the White Grotto, the Green Grotto and the Blue Grotto! Get the occasion to dive in the pristine clear waters of Capri, swimming and snorkelling in one of the most marvellous bays in the whole world.

WE DID NOT REACH CAPRI OR ANY OF THE ABOVE!! WE HAD NO TIME FOR SWIMMING!!

When we were departing the port at the start of our tour, I got chatting to our amazing skipper with excitement about our stops as per the promised itinerary. He was so honest he quickly told me this was not possible! We left the port late and there’s no time to fit this all in it’s absolutely impossible to do. He saw my disappointment and apologised, he called Bianca who I was dealing with. He handed the phone to me to speak directly to Bianca who then advised there’s no time but for no extra cost we can stop at Capri after Almalfi Coast and Pasitano. I told her she confirmed this was included and we shouldn’t be charged? I became annoyed and bothered as I quickly realised “these guys were after our money and nothing else”, the tone had changed!!!

They say 8 hours but we were only out for 5 hours as we had to rush back. We left late at 11am. We spent most of the time on water, headed to Almafi Coast and Positano where we only spent an hour. We left Positano to head back as we stopped for lunch on the way back to port. The place we stopped off for lunch was called Il cantuccio, it was the biggest rip off and a tourist trap, food was not great but very expensive.

We were also told we would get snacks and drinks as part of our package, if we didn’t ask about this we wouldn’t of been offered soft drinks. We did not receive any snacks or light refreshments like they mentioned.

I will NEVER do this again and DO NOT recommend Restart as I feel they were not honest like they made out.
Again grateful to our skipper Alexandro as he made our experience an enjoyable one considering the false itinerary provided.

We rented from Restart had fabulous experience! They picked 7 of us up at our hotel in Sorrento and took us to Capri and arranged a lovely lunch. Stopped to swim twice and gave us pool noodle floats. Took us to grottos! Nice beverages aboard. And the Captain and co Captain Antontenelli we're great.

Fabiano and Jana made our day, our holiday and our year back in 2023.

This was our first yacht experience which was organised by the prestigious 5 star Mediterraneo hotel in sorento.

We booked the day experience. Taken by chauffeur from our hotel to the port and warmly greeted by the infectious Fabiano and Jana.

Jana laid out the red carpet literally and handed us into the yacht. We were then asked where we like to go, we handed that part to them. We were then handed champagne , a home made limoncello and sped off around capri and then visited Positano town.

Whilst everyone else at the harbour side in Positano were waiting for a large boat we drifted up onto the side and were told just to call when we would like to come back….i cannot tell you how privileged and special we felt, they were just incredible people Fabiano and Jana.

Myself and wife have done lots of 5 star experiences and cannot assure you more that this was the best experience we have ever had. These 2 beautiful , lovely people made our day extremely special. The yacht was beautiful and new.

Ultimately we enjoyed our experience, but I think there are some important things to note. When you book the boat, they send you a flyer saying you will be offered water, soft drinks, dry snacks, and even Prosecco/limoncello - these were not offered to us, so make sure you bring water. The trip was also said to be customizable, and the email initially had listed a lot of activities to do - snorkeling at the grotto, visiting li galli islands, then spending time shopping, eating food, etc. I was worried we wouldn't be able to spend much time in Amalfi and Positano with all of that, so I requested no stops, just to go to the two islands.

Unfortunately, when they say 8 hours total they mean 8 hours including 4 hours of just boat ride (I'm not kidding, it took just 2 hours to get to Positano, 30 mins to Amalfi, then 1.5 hours to Sorrento, multiple boats passed us along the way).The boat picked us up 30 mins late on the dock, and then if you include an hour total for all the docking/getting off you are left with about 3 hours for both cities... we were unaware of this, so spent 2 hours in Positano for lunch/exploring, only to later find out we only had 1 hour to explore Amalfi before heading back. I have no idea how you can do all the things they listed in their email within 8 hours and still see the city - we didn't snorkel, go to emerald grotto, or li galli islands.

I am conflicted, because we loved our boat driver and loved the private boat experience, but I don't think we would ever do this again - we wasted so much time on the water. If you are trying to see both Amalfi and Positano in one trip I do not recommend taking this private charter - try to find one that can get you there faster and allows more than 8 scheduled hours for you to enjoy the cities. If you have plenty of time to see the cities on other days, then I would recommend this charter.

Restart Boat was amazing from start to finish. Costanza was a great help with planning and picking the right tour for us and provided many different options. The day of the boat tour could not have gone any better from the pickup at our hotel to meeting Lydia at the marina to the drop off at the end of the day. Everything was taken care of and all we had to do was get on the boat and enjoy our day. Once on the boat our skipper, Mariano, made us feel like the boat was ours and offered many options for our day. We saw so many great sights and went swimming in some amazing areas with crystal clear water and lots of marine life. We wouldn't hesitate to book again of we're ever in Sorrento in the future.

Our private luxury boat tour was amazing. Luca and Antonino were incredibly attentive and made our private boat excursion to Capri top notch. We stopped at a natural waterfall and a delicious lunch at a top seafood restaurant. Our second luxury boat tour included a stop in Positano and I can say that this is the very best way to see Positano and afterwards be whisked away to swim and lunch. We were living our best life and our two boat tours were the highlight of our trip. Luca and Antonino made our trip very special and I recommend them and Restart for any of your boating experiences.
