This place is awesome ?. Go here if you need a great coordinated care team and wonderful room accomodations. I've had a total of 8 operations as an adult. Some minor as an outpatient, but many required hospital stays. All but 2 were in different hospitals, and that was JPS in Ft Worth. The worst place I've ever been.

I was brought to the ER from work. The day shift got me situated as the were going to keep me. Later I was told they would be taking me to a room. I only got switched from one ER room to another. There was no personal bathroom or sink. Some shifts responsive care was a lot better than others. I kept wondering why I had them on my list of DON’T GO THERE AGAIN. Now I remember clearly. I'm sure they will be charging my insurance for a patient room and not just ER. Also, I'm sure there were a lot of tests given I didn't need. I will not forget again. If I need an ambulance and they want to bring me here, I will take my chances and wait for a Lyft.

I believe they were only interested in my money. I have a condition that required a specialist to discuss how to best deal with my difficulties with mobility, the most useful supplements and medications specifically for my circumstances, and a treatment program set up. The doctor I was scheduled with no longer sees patients and the office called to offer an appointment with the provider that was taking over the doctor's appointments. The office was well aware that I lived in Oklahoma and needed to travel approximately 2 hours to get there. The first appointment they offered at the time of reschedule was very early and I reminded them that I lived in Oklahoma and would need a later appointment. I had to take a day off work and had to pay $271 prior to the visit. At the end of the visit, Patricia tells me she cannot provide any help, letters concerning work accommodations, nor write prescriptions as she is a Nurse Practioner and it's illegal to prescribe over state lines. She did not offer to work with a physician that could legally do so. This was a waste of my time and money because all she did was suggest books for me to read, told me the type of physical therapy I needed to find, and was going to send a consultation to the Nutrition Department, but she wasn't sure they could assist me over state lines. She also told me to make an appointment with my primary care provider to handle everything I needed from UT Southwestern. This means taking another day off work. I just received an email stating they were charging my insurance an additional $693. They did not do one test or provide ANY assistance. $964 got me a 14 page list of books, ect. and a consult to Nutrition that may not be able to assist and that was 3 of those pages. I fail to understand how an initial consult visit with a Nurse Practioner without any labs or tests cost $964. They did not advise me that they would not provide anything beyond what I have already discovered for myself on official websites for my condition.

My spouse had surgery here in the Neurology Department and let me say that despite her going through the process the Complete staff from the Valet, Receptionist, Attendants, Assistants, Nurses, Doctors, Technicians and Surgeons were all outstanding and very helpful, supportive and caring. I loved the setup and process of letting your love ones be there for the patient through out their journey. Thank you University of Texas Southwest for everything!!!!

after a terrible experience receiving healthcare in Lubbock & being transferred to UTSW, I can confidently say that the quality of care is substantially higher than any other hospital I have been to. Dr. Larry Meyers is my doctor & he has the most positive, uplifting, & informative attitude of any medical professional that has treated me. he was so gentle & patient with me & he made sure that he answered all of my questions & put my mind totally at ease. Dr. David Fetzer was the radiologist that did my biopsy & he was so quick & comforting towards me despite the obnoxious panic attack I was having during the procedure. these compassionate doctors & their amazing nursing staff have truly made all the difference for an anxious patient like me & they are the reason I know I am in good hands at UTSW. thank you again to Dr. Meyers & Dr. Fetzer for the wonderful healthcare experience.

Dear Sir/Madam,

I had previously visited your doctor Cadie Hanes, D.N.P., APRN, FNP-C, who recommended a follow-up appointment in six months. Accordingly, I scheduled an appointment for today at 8:00 AM. However, while on my way, a traffic accident caused a delay of approximately 32 minutes. When I arrived at the hospital, I was informed that my appointment had been canceled due to the delay.

I explained my situation, mentioning that I have been experiencing ear pain and persistent ringing, and I requested a brief consultation with the doctor. Unfortunately, the doctor refused to see me and offered a new appointment only two months later.

This situation deeply upset me, and as a patient, I found it quite disheartening. A traffic accident is beyond my control. I believe that a doctor who values ethics and patient care should have at least taken a moment to listen to me, evaluate my condition, and arrange a sooner appointment if necessary.

I feel that this experience fell significantly short of both human and professional standards. I kindly request that you review the approach of the doctor in question and take steps to ensure that patients in similar situations are treated with greater care and understanding in the future.

Sincerely,
Mehmet Akman

Review:

I’ve had two visits to this hospital, and both experiences were terrible, especially with the nurses and receptionists/front desk staff. It feels like the hospital hires unprofessional individuals (miscreants) as front desk officers while focusing on employing good doctors. I have a surgery scheduled, but the way I’ve been treated as a patient is extremely concerning.

To make matters worse, I’ve been unable to sign up for MyChart, yet I’ve been billed over $500 for just two visits. When I reached out to customer support, Pamela was rude and unhelpful. She acknowledged there was an error on my profile but refused to assist me, instead transferring me to a line that disconnected immediately.

It’s baffling how I can be billed correctly but still have errors on my profile. I’m now considering other options for my surgery, as I don’t trust this hospital system with my care.

Oh my!!! The people here are amazing!!!! They listen, they care, and they don't give up! We arrived in ED and ended up being admitted 2 nights. They never gave up. All staff members were professional and even humorous. We will never go anywhere else. Highly recommended. They also have a walking trail outside.

Go up
