Overall great room and a great place to stay. Super cozy and beautifully decorated for Christmas. Just suggest that they give a discount on the water park for your guest staying. Charge non guest more to use to the water park.
It really sucked that the main area for my 2 year old was down. She hardly was able to do anything. The food was good but basic for breakfast. In mu opinion over priced.

Overall a nice resort with nice accommodations and a feeling of being in the wilderness. The food was good but very expensive. The WiFi worked really well and easy to connect. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable. As others said it is quite a drive up if you are near the top and not too walking friendly. You’d need to use your car or a shuttle to go about the hotel. My main complaint would be the noise. I think they need to work on their acoustics and dampen the sound a bit. You can hear people walking, closing doors, talking.

I really wanted to like this place. The location is superb, and so is the ambiance, but we checked out early for a few reasons. 1. The rooms were not that clean 2. The rooms did not have good lighting 3. The property was not walkable, and if you are at the top of the resort you feel somewhat trapped because it is a long trip down. 4. The road is curvy and steep and no sidewalks. 5. The timeshare presentation was torture and way longer than 90 minutes. 5. If you are afraid of heights I would recommend you request a lower villa - the top of the property gave me vertigo. Service was so-so. If the weather was better I might have enjoyed this property more but I don't feel overly compelled to go back. On the plus side, the lodge was decorated beautifully for Christmas. The kids love the costumed characters who walk about, and they have a lemonade and popcorn service in the lounge every evening which was nice. The food looked good and the bar inviting.

NOT worth the price we paid!

$450+ per night plus resort fees. Water park is NOT INCLUDED. $40 per person per day for the indoor water activities.

Pull out soda has urine stains all over it. Phone extensions do not work. I had to call the main number I found online to reach someone.

We booked a room for our family of 4 and there was only bedding (pillows, blankets, sheets, towels, etc.) or 2 people.

I had to call 3 times over the course of 2 hours to finally get bedding for my girls to go to bed after 1030 at night. (Check out the tiny baby pillow they finally brought in comparison with the other standard pillows- what a joke!)

We went to charge our phones and the desk outlets do not work as they are not plugged in yo anything. If you want to charge your phone you have to unplug the TV).

Will NOT stay here again!

I won’t even get into how the “customer service” changed when I told them that I was not interested in taking their tour! (I was asked very accusatory “Do you not need $150?” To waste 4 hours of my time after I just paid $500 a night yo stay here… “No, I don’t want your $150 gift certificate!”

Update - After a horrible night and no one getting any rest we decided to leave. It was nearly midnight when my family was finally given bedding so that we could make our own beds in order to lay down. The room next to us has a dog that barked and whined most of the night and again at 6am this morning. The front desk would not do anything about the dog. We tried to talk to someone in management multiply times and were denied. We also tried communicating through their text system only to be told they were too busy to address our complaint or contact us.

We stayed here at a discounted rate because of the timeshare presentation, and these were our observations:||The Resort|-The place is huge (tons of rooms and tons of people) |-Located on the side of a mountain so it’s a steep drive up|-Not a walkable resort|-Right in the middle of Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg which is nice|-Hard to get in/out of resort because of traffic on main road|-Beware of the black bears!||Lodging:|-We had a one-bedroom suite for 3 people, and it was plenty of room|-Only downside is that the pull-out couch is VERY uncomfortable|-It comes with a kitchenette and a washer/dryer combo|-You only get 2 free sets of coffee||Food & Bar:|-There is only 1 main restaurant (Southern Comfort) for breakfast, lunch & dinner|-We only ate breakfast here, but it was good and a decent price|-The only other restaurant we saw was in the waterpark area|-We were able to order pizza to be delivered to the room which was convenient|-They have a lobby bar that looked nice but it closes at 9 pm (sad face)||Amenities:|-The waterpark is pretty small, but located indoors, so I can see how it is nice in winter (if you like kids)|-The arcade was fun and pretty big for a resort arcade|-The market on site has everything a convenience store has, along with some souvenirs and fresh Starbucks||Surrounding areas:|-Gatlinburg in November was a disaster due to hours of traffic and globs of people|-Pigeon Forge was less crowded but we still had a hard time finding stuff to do|-Everything is VERY commercialized, it’s almost like the whole city is owned by Ripley’s Believe it or Not?||Timeshare presentation:|-We were prepared for this but they still laid it on thick|-You are told that you have to stay for a 30 minute lunch and a 90 minute presentation but you are there for almost 4 hours (longer if you say yes)|-You learn about the resort and the history, and then take a small tour of the amenities and a cabin, and then the manager comes out to talk about pricing|-Every time you say no, a better price becomes available|-After they make you feel like you are the scum of the earth for saying no repeatedly, and after 3 different managers have talked to you, you are allowed to leave||Overall, we will not be back. The resort was nice for a short weekend stay, and the Great Rocky Mountains were beautiful, but we found it to be quite boring. |Goodluck fellow travelers!

Extremely Disappointing and Unprofessional Experience

I made a reservation directly through this resort’s official website and even received a confirmation email. However, upon arrival at the front desk late at night, I was informed that they had no record of my booking and that no room would be provided. This was not a third-party booking; it was made through their own website, yet they claimed no responsibility for the error.

After driving for hours to an unfamiliar area, we were left stranded late at night, anxious and unsure of where we would find alternative accommodations. Speaking with the manager was no help—despite explaining the situation, they simply said there was nothing they could do.

It’s shocking and unreasonable that a reservation made directly through their system could be denied like this. How can anyone trust this resort if they refuse to honor their own bookings? We weren’t asking for anything beyond what was rightfully ours, yet their handling of the situation made us feel like we were the ones asking for too much.

This experience has completely ruined our vacation. The lack of accountability and professionalism is appalling, and their response to the issue was both inadequate and deeply frustrating. I cannot recommend this resort to anyone, and I would advise others to think twice before booking here.

I booked this room as part of a vacation package and was VERY nervous when I read all the negative reviews. I never write reviews but I had to in this circumstance because we had an amazing trip. The room was spotless. Anytime we had a question or needed something from the front desk, it was addressed very quickly. We didn't have any trouble with parking and the amenities were great. Location is perfect for Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. The timeshare meeting was very quick and the sales person was very kind when we declined. 100% would stay here again.

Beautiful resort in the Smoky Mountains. Staff are super friendly and lots of amenities! Would stay here again in a heartbeat. The restaurant Southern Comfort is not bad either. Thanks for a memorable stay.
